London Marylebone Trains
Marylebone Station is situated in the City of Westminster, Central London. It was the last of the main London terminal stations to be built and is also the smallest. Chiltern Railways and Wrexham & Shropshire run rail services to and from Marylebone Station.
The railway station is close to some of the capital’s most popular tourist attractions, such as Lord’s Cricket Ground, Madame Tussauds and Regent’s Park. It’s easy to get to other areas of London as well: Marylebone Underground Station is accessible from the station’s main concourse, and Baker Street Underground Station is only a five-minute walk away.
Chiltern Railways operates all services at the station, accessing the Chiltern Main Line and London to Aylesbury Line routes which serve High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Bicester, Banbury, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Solihull, Birmingham Moor Street, Birmingham Snow Hill, and (at peak hours) Stourbridge Junction and Kidderminster.
There are services to Oxford via the Oxford to Bicester Line, and some services to Stratford-upon-Avon via the Leamington to Stratford branch line.
Marylebone is in the northern, Lisson Grove, neighbourhood of the district, in a northern projection of the Bryanston and Dorset Square ward immediately south of St John's Wood. North-east is Regent's Park, north in a network of mostly residential streets is Lord's Cricket Ground and south, south-west and south-east are a mixed-use network of streets.
Other nearby London termini to Marylebone are Euston and Paddington.
Plan Your London Marylebone Train Journey
Travel by train to London Marylebone from Mitcham Eastfields can often be costly. You can however reduce the cost of your train ticket to London quite considerably by following these simple travel tips:-
Split Your London Marylebone Train Tickets
Split ticketing is something many seasoned passengers on Mitcham Eastfields to London Marylebone trains already practice and is where instead of having one train ticket to take you to London Marylebone from Mitcham Eastfields the journey is broken down into two or more parts with a separate rail ticket for each sector where the train stops.
For example, if you wanted to travel from Station A to Station D, you would expect to buy a ticket direct from A to D. However, you may find it a lot cheaper to buy a ticket from A to B, and another from B to C and still another from C to D for a cheaper combined train ticket price. This is especially true when not all sectors of your journey are during peak time.
Split Ticketing is legal and permitted by the National Rail Conditions of Carriage but can be confusing. To take advantage of the huge savings you could enjoy from splitting your Mitcham Eastfields to London Marylebone train tickets click here to visit our dedicated split train ticket page.
