About First Great Western Trains

First Great Western operates one of the largest networks, centred on London's Paddington station with services fanning out to Bristol, Cardiff and South Wales, South West England, Oxford, the Cotswolds and many local and long-distance services in between.

The main services - all operated by 125mph high speed trains - run every 30 minutes from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads via Reading, Swindon, Chippenham and Bath, every 30 minutes from London Paddington to Cardiff Central, calling at Reading, Swindon, Bristol Parkway and Newport (each hour the train continues to Swansea) and every hour to Plymouth via Reading, Taunton and Exeter (with many services continuing to Penzance).

All high speed trains include at least a buffet or Express Cafe serving sandwiches, cakes, and hot and cold drinks.

Some trains also include a traveling chef serving meals at your seat, and the trains traveling from Penzance to Paddington and back serve Pullman Lunch and Dinner menus.

All standard class table seats are equipped with power sockets and all trains have boosted mobile phone signals. Wi-Fi is available in standard class on a pay as you go basis and is free in First Class.
